Our Team

Paul D’Angelo

I started D’Angelo Legal in 2007 solely to offer clients personalised service with someone whom they like, trust and can talk to. Today we have grown to a full-service law firm ensuring that we remain approachable at all times while providing cost-effective legal services to SME businesses and Mums and Dads.

As a well-established firm, we value the relationship with our clients and have ensured that our team consists of like-minded individuals who value the client relationship and recognise their needs are paramount and not transactional. Today our team culture ensures that we strive to help clients resolve their legal problems.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, boating, fishing and Kung Fu.

Kealeigh Barker

I have had the pleasure of working at D’Angelo Legal since I started as a Law Clerk in 2008, when we were just a small firm of 2. Today, I am a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of WA and the High Court of Australia. We are now a full service firm with an amazing, collaborative team. Being involved with the expansion has been exciting, while also creating my own personal and professional networks, which has been one of the best parts of my role.  I am passionate about the firm and its direction and by being given the opportunity to network and create lasting relationships with clients and referral partners, I am able to create trust in our ability to provide great advice and service.

I am the Head of Practice in General Commercial and this diverse area of practice encompasses a wide variety of matters; including business matters, wills and estates, property and business conveyancing and all related matters such as contract drafting and reviews.  My practice areas all relate to each other, which allows me to be the primary solicitor for most matters for my clients.  As we are a collaborative law firm, I also assist other divisions with their drafting and advice. I have had exposure to most practice areas that our clients require at D’Angelo Legal. I love to learn and the variety of the work I do, which is why I have stayed at D’Angelo Legal for so long.  It also helps that we are like a family and I truly enjoy coming to work each day.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two young children and travelling.  We like to camp and caravan, as well as hike and head to the beach, and when I get to enjoy some child-free time I enjoy a nice glass of wine and head out with friends.  I believe I have a great work / life balance which makes me a better mum and a better lawyer.

Leah Clemens

I joined the team at D’Angelo Legal in 2020 with a primary focus on Litigation and supporting the Family Law Team. With 16 years of experience as a Lawyer and over 20 years in the legal industry I have gained valuable skills to assist my clients in various areas of Law.

My varied experience includes, Fisheries and Maritime Law, Insurance Law, Commercial Litigation and Corporation Law to name a few.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children and being outdoors.

Stephanie Powell

I graduated from Murdoch University (Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History) in 2013 and then completed the College of Law. I was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, in 2014. I am the Head of Family Law and joined the D’Angelo Legal team in 2019.

Since 2014 I have been working exclusively in the area of Family Law. I enjoy all areas of Family Law, though I take a particular interest in children’s matters, alternative dispute resolution and adult maintenance issues. I was honoured to be co-published in the Australian Journal of Family Law in 2014 and 2019 on the ‘guidelines for parenting disputes and coercive relocation orders’ (Australian Journal of Family Law & Legitimate guidelines, parenting disputes and the case of ‘coercive’ relocation orders).

I have completed my Masters in Family Law and Family Dispute Resolution and I am in the process of registration with the Attorney General’s office as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

My client’s often describe me as being being open, supportive and straight-forward in the advice I provide and the approach I take. This is because I take pride in providing high-quality legal services to my clients and help them reach their goals post-separation wherever possible.

I am also a member of the Legal Aid Family Law Practitioners panel that allows me to take on both private and Legal Aid clients.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and also enjoy reading, listening to music and engaging in fitness activities. When I haven’t got my “lawyer hat” on I enjoy spending time with my daughter at, or near, the ocean.

Fatima Verdingola

I am the Head of Personal Injury at D’Angelo Legal and have a strong focus on Worker’s Compensation claims, Motor Vehicle Accident claims, Public Liability claims, Medical Negligence, Institutional Abuse and Superannuation claims.

Having been admitted as a lawyer for almost 20 years, I have successfully represented clients in jurisdictions from WorkCover to the District, Supreme and Federal Courts.

Being the only fluent speaking Portuguese lawyer in Western Australia I also provide a wide range of legal services to Portuguese clients.

I pride myself on maximizing my client’s compensation entitlements, whether it be through a negotiated settlement, or proceeding with a claim to a hearing while also providing clients with simple straight forward legal advice to ensure that their legal needs are successfully met.

Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit, socialising and travelling.

Rebecca Womack

I have been the Conveyancing Manager since early 2017 at D’Angelo Legal, having obtained my Settlement Agents License in 2007. I have managed the full gamut of conveyancing matters including, but not limited to; commercial, rural, residential, strata, off-the-plan properties, vacant land and subdivisions.  I also deal with a wide range of transactions from survivorship transmissions, matrimonial property orders, lost titles, changes of name, and any type of related party transaction that involve a change to property ownership.  I also assist with the preparation of Sale Contracts.

I was born and lived in the UK until emigrating to Perth in 2005.  I have a strong business and commercial background, with a BA (Hons) in Business Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computing, together with commercial experience in the pharmaceutical sector prior to commencing my career in settlements.

While working at D’Angelo Legal I am able to assist in many other areas, in addition to conveyancing, as my passion is to constantly learn new skills and take on new challenges. I thoroughly enjoy working within the settlement industry as no two days are ever the same!

Outside of work I love to spend time with my family. We have a son who loves the great outdoors, and especially love finding new places to explore with our dog.

I have worked with D’Angelo Legal since opening in West Leederville in 2007. Over the years I have assisted with general administration, reception, human resources and legal support roles as required. Having been part of the firm since the beginning I have seen the firm grow to the hard working and experienced team they are today.

When not in the office I spend time with our children and enjoy a walk at the beach, taking a photo or ten, precious family time and catching up with friends.
